Episode 5 of Music, Hope, Word, Prayer. Join Rev. John Hilley, Nate Strasser, and Lindsey Hinds-Brown as they offer a time of worship reflecting on the power of faith, prayer, and what it really means to have a life well-lived. To help us, we are going back to the pages of Scripture (I Samuel 8:1-18:9) to learn from the person of Saul – the first king in Israel We can learn from our “worst” and “best” moments in life and Saul certainly had his share of “worst” moments. But he had a “best” moment, too, and it involved listening. By, listening we are much more likely to hear what God wants from us in this moment. John Hilley reminds us something he heard said: “I think we need to be a bit like Saul and listen. It’s time to hear some voices that don’t often have the social power to speak” (Tom Are). Nate Strasser offers a variation of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
