Holiday Harmony: A Christmas Celebration
In a season characterized by joy spread through gifts given and food shared, East Brentwood Presbyterian Church is ecstatic to offer another opportunity to experience joy through the sounds of Nate’ Strasser’s Holiday Harmony, A Christmas Celebration!
Known for his musical experience in award-winning films and including I Wanna Dance With Somebody, the Whitney Houston Biopic and Netflix series Captain Fall, Nate Strasser is stoked to bring together an event that boasts in its welcoming of people from all ages and walks of life. Attendees can expect to hear a variety of their favorite, traditional Christmas songs with a few twists! When asked why he chose to remix some of our favorite carols, Nate Strasser responded, “I hope to play the familiar carols that people love and want to hear, but play in a way that breathes new life into some of our most beloved, traditional Christmas carols.”
From the East Brentwood Presbyterian Church, we’d love for you and your family to come and join us, Sunday December 22, 2024 at 7:00PM, for an experience with joy through song and music! In the words of Nate Strasser, “All ages will love the music! It will be an upbeat, joyous event that you won’t want to miss!”
Christmas Eve in the Barn
Christmas Eve at the Barn (3:30 p.m.; 3:15 p.m. hot cider and crafts table opens) Hot Cider by our firepits. Christmas Story Reading. Sing carols amid the hay. This 30-minute service is ideal for all ages, especially for families with young children. In a time when it is so easy for us to focus on the BIG problems “out there” in our world, we focus our vision on something small, something close to home as we welcome the Christ child into our own church home at EBPC and into your own homes on this day. Christ’s birth makes the vastness of God personal. Our barn is accessed from Concord Road or from the far end of our Concord parking lot.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
A service that considers those whose Christmas includes holding a candle and singing Silent Night and Joy to the World. Join us for our traditional service with its reading of the Christmas Story, hearing joyous music, and a message from Pastor John, “Love Knows Your Name.” Christ’s birth makes the vastness of God personal. When the angels visit the shepherds in the fields, their message is global but also personal: “To you…a savior is born.” This birth is good news for everyone, especially those who are ignored or disenfranchised. On this night, God is born, and this God of love knows your name. If you can’t join us in person for this beautiful one-hour service, join us online.

We Make the Road By Walking, by Brian McLaren
Join us Sunday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.(beginning February 18) for a deeper dive on bible and faith as Brian McLaren offers a brilliant retelling of the biblical story and a great reintroduction to Christian faith. Weekly readings can be read in 10-12 minutes before each session and can be quickly covered each Sunday morning making it a doable and rich study for interactive learning and personal growth. Facilitators: John and Kira Hilley and others. You will find this book a great companion for our Lent series and for your life. (Let us know if you are interested or need more information: jhilley@ebpctn.org.)
Season of Lent
This Lent, we are focusing on the life and faith of one of Jesus’ most famous disciples. In Peter, we see a person who is both steadfast and unsteady, a dear friend and a betrayer, a follower and a wanderer. In Peter, we often see ourselves. By following Peter’s journey, we watch the story of Jesus unfold through the eyes of a very normal human trying to figure it all out—just like us. Like many of us, Peter has a wandering heart. His journey is not polished, or linear, or perfect, but he is always tethered to the love of God.
During this series we will affirm that faith is a constant journey of steadfast pursuit, one that ebbs and flows. We will reflect on the stages of our own faith journeys as well as who and what has shaped us along the way. As we wander, let us tune our hearts to sing God’s grace. May we rest in streams of mercy, never ceasing.
